Solar energy imaginary.

This picture by John Martin at the begining of XIXth century express clearly the new deal in the relationship between Society and Nature.

First, we need take a count that the scene is about a brief story inside the Torah (תורה).

The holy book said that Joshua pleged to God in order to commanding the Sun and the Moon still stand upon Gibeon. Nevertheless, the picture atributes to Joshua the power and control above Nature forces.

This picture that, also, remake the fashion of the characters mixing military roman clothes with eastern suits, with all these things considered, allow us to understand changes in mentalities and support the hypothesis that establishes the solar energy has been neglected because humankind can not have control upon the sun.
